Creating audiobooks

Track generation status

Understand each production stage and what to do if progress stops.

3 min read

Audiobooks are produced chapter by chapter. The time required depends on book length, source formatting, demand, and your plan’s queue priority.

Production statuses

  • Queued means the file is safely uploaded and waiting to start.
  • Preparing means BookWave is extracting and organizing the text.
  • Narrating shows chapter-level audio production is underway.
  • Finishing means files and metadata are being assembled.
  • Ready means streaming and downloads are available.

Follow progress

  1. 1

    Open your dashboard

Active productions appear at the top of your library.

  2. 2

    Select the book

Open the production panel to see stage, chapter progress, and any message that needs attention.

  3. 3

    Start listening early

When the first chapter is ready, use the player while the remaining chapters finish.

If progress appears stuck

Refresh the book page and check your dashboard for an error message. Large or unusually formatted books may spend longer in preparation. If the status does not change for several hours, contact support with the book title and account email.
